PADI Night Diver Course

Are you ready for your PADI Night Diver Course?

When the sun goes down, we turn the lights on. Then we head into the water for a night dive.

From corals that glow in the dark with UV lights, to bioluminescence all around you when you glide through the water, after dark, a whole new world comes to life under the water.

Many new and unusual marine life forms come out from hiding all day or come up from the deep to feed.

The PADI Night Diver Course takes you through the steps to become a safe and confident night diver, from how to use a torch safely, to communication in the dark.

Outline of the PADI Night Diver Course:

You will receive you Night Diver crew pack when you enrol on the course, giving you plenty of time to study the manual, watch the DVD and complete the knowledge reviews.

You will then attend a theory session with your Instructor, checking your answers for the knowledge review and answering any questions you might have.

Your Instructor will then spend time with you explaining the use of night lights, torches, glow sticks and strobes including when and how to use them.

Once you are familiar with the lights, you will move onto communication at night, how to achieve this, as well as what not to do.

The entry and exit methods may differ from the same dive site during the day.

Finally, we will look at the safety aspects of Night Diving.

Confined Water Pool Sessions:

Although there are no mandatory pool sessions with the PADI Night Diver Course, you will have the opportunity to have a dive in the deep pool with the main lights switched off, so you can get used to using the night lights.

Open Water Dives:

Before you start your night diver training, you will make a dive in daylight to familiarise yourself with the dive site.

Once the daylight dive is completed, you can then start your night dives. You will be given a thorough briefing before each dive by your Instructor, explaining what is going to happen during the dive and all safety aspects. After each dive, you will receive a debriefing from your Instructor.

The dives will be spread over a few nights, as there is no time limit to the course completion time and it would be unadvisable to complete all the dives in one night.
