PADI Rescue Diver Course
Take the next step and become a PADI Rescue Diver
Dive into confidence with the Rescue Diver course! Mastering how to handle potential underwater dangers boosts your assurance and makes diving even more enjoyable. This intense yet fun course equips you to be a top-notch buddy for your fellow divers, always ready to help in any situation.
Past students rave about how dramatically their diving experiences have improved, knowing they’re prepared for anything. The Rescue Diver course is a favourite among Orca’s instructors, as it significantly enhances both confidence and diving abilities in their students, making them better buddies for every dive
PADI Rescue Diver Course Pre-requisites:
- Minimum age is 12. All 12-14 year olds will be awarded a junior certification
- You must complete a medical questionnaire before participating
- A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver qualification (or equivalent certification from another training agency)
- A completed first aid certification, including CPR, from within the past two years. Orca Scuba Diving Academy provides an Emergency First Response course, which is discounted for all students taking the Rescue Diver course
PADI Rescue Diver Knowledge Development:
Similar to previous PADI courses, you will work through your paper manual, or eLearning, a chapter at a time, allowing you to study at your own pace, in your own time. You’ll have access to an instructor to assist at any point. The last step in this section is to take a short multiple choice assessment to demonstrate you have fully understood the theory of the course.
Confined Water Rescue Training (pool sessions):
In this section of the course you will first review your self-rescue skills from your PADI Open Water Diver course. You will then move forward, learning new skills to deal with emergency situations including panicked divers, unresponsive divers and taking control of a situation to effect a rescue.
Open Water Rescue Diver Training:
Get ready for the grand finale of the Rescue Diver course! This thrilling stage lets you put all the skills you’ve mastered in the pool to the test with real rescue scenarios. Spend a day at one of our designated Open Water Dive sites, where you’ll dive into exciting hands-on challenges and sharpen your rescue abilities. It’s an action-packed day that not only hones your skills but also ensures you’re ready for any underwater emergency.
